General Information

The 2008 IAFPA Annual Conference is hosted by the Speech Processing and Biometrics Group (GTPB) at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) and the Forensic Science Institute at the University of Lausanne. The conference will be held in the Centre Général Guisan in Lausanne, which is at the Lake of Geneva shore, near the Olympic Museum. The centre is a comfortable walking distance from the Lausanne-Ouchy downtown area, where hotels and restaurants are located.

The conference program will begin in the morning of Monday 21st July and end around lunchtime on Wednesday 23rd July. A social gathering including a small buffet and welcome drinks is planned for Sunday evening beginning around 7 pm.

Following the 2008 IAFPA conference, the scientific unit LINGUA within the Swiss Federal Office for Migration (FOM) has organised a Workshop on linguistic analyses within the asylum procedure at the Centre Général Guisan on Wednesday afternoon 23rd July and Thursday 24th July. June 20th: Notification of acceptance
July 1st: Final date informing of intention to attend before higher fees apply
July 20th: Conference registration and evening buffet
