IAFPA 2006 Annual Conference Website (added 10th January 2006)

A start has been made on the website which will eventually contain all of the details for the IAFPA 2006 Annual Conference. The website can be found here. The conference website will be updated as and when information is available.

IAFPA 2005 Annual Conference (added 19th August 2005)

The 2005 IAFPA Annual Conference held in Marrakech was a resounding success. The IAFPA would like to thank the Gendarmerie Royale and those who organised the conference.

The winner of the student prize was Claire Gurski with her presentation 'Voice onset time comparisons of French-English/English-French bilinguals'.

The conference programme is still available and will be retained on the website. It is planned that programmes from other past conferences will also be added.

IAFPA 2006 & 2007 Annual Conferences (added 19th August 2005)

It was decided in Marrakech that the IAFPA 2006 Annual Conference will be hosted by the Institute for Linguistics at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. The provisional dates for the conference are from Sunday 23rd July to Thursday 27th July 2006.

It was also decided that the 2007 Annual Conference will be hosted by the College of St Mark and St John, Plymouth, England.

Further information about both conferences will be posted on this website as soon as it is available.

IAFPA 2005 Conference - Accommodation (added 6th July 2005)

The conference organising committee cannot guarantee that reservations for hotel rooms will be accepted as late as two weeks before the conference. If you require accommodation to be arranged please contact the organising committee as soon as possible.

IAFPA 2005 Conference - New Information (added 5th May 2005)

Please note that new information has been added to the conference page including the new abstract submission date of May 15th, the conference venue, hotel accommodation and lunch arrangements.

IAFPA 2005 Conference

The IAFPA 2005 Annual Conference will be held in Marrakesh, Morocco, from 3rd to 6th August 2005 and will be organised by Mamoun Alaoui and hosted by the Moroccan Gendarmerie. Information is now available on the conference page.

IAFPA - New Name

The International Association for Forensic Phonetics and Acoustics (IAFPA) is the new name of what was IAFP. The incorporation of forensic acoustics into the Association was agreed at the 2003 Conference in Vienna. The Constitution and Code of Practice have been updated and the new versions are now available on the website.
